The annual Todd Family camping trip was held in early July at Dutch Treat Campground in Zeeland. We were there for an entire week and, for three of the days, all the "Todd Kids" were together in one place. Mike and Kathie came from Texas and the rest of use traveled from the Hastings, Freeport and Lake Odessa area. We occupied 8 sites and gathered around a half dozen picnic tables when everyone sat down to eat together. We always eat well when the family gets together and most depart with a couple extra pounds around the middle.

The swimming pool was a popular spot throughout the week for kids and adults. An evening usually featured a water fight and trying to bombard each other with the water balls and Frisbees. At night we spent time talking and snacking around the campfire until midnight. It's nice to catch up on what everyone has been doing in a relaxing, unrushed atmosphere. We had time to catch up on reading and took a few naps without worrying about work and all the other busy things we do throughout the year. Other activities included kite flying, biking, t-shirt making, an Easter egg hunt, fishing, going to the playground and shopping around the Holland / Zeeland area.
